Engineering Geology, Hydrology, Soil and Rock Mechanics

There is an inseparable relationship between topography, hydro-mechanical properties of geologic media, subsurface hydrologic processes and dynamics of landform evolution in mountainous terrain. My research concerns primarily slope instability phenomena. My interests span from soil mechanics to geomorphology to hydrology. Whatever the subject, a strong experimental basis deriving from field observation, on-site monitoring or lab testing is believed to be fundamental.
